MKM COLVERA Flipper Bronze Knife (MK LS02-TBR)

$570.99

Description

The Colvera was designed by Jesper Voxnaes, a custom knifemaker out of Denmark, and produced by LionSteel out of Maniago, Italy. “Produced in Maniago, Italy” is the theme of the entire enterprise for MKM, which is aptly named. This ‘brand’ is a collection of four of the top knife manufacturers in Italy working together to consolidate and strengthen their commercial contributions to foreign markets.

They’ve chosen to work with some highly regarded and sought-after custom makers to launch the brand and they’ve already made quite a splash. MKM won Knife Collaboration of the Year with Lucas Burnley and Bob Terzuola at the 2018 BLADE Show, while Viper took home Overall Knife of the Year with the SURU and LionSteel won the Manufacturing Quality Award for the third time in five years. A spectacular start, and one that confirms and fuels the mission of the Maniago Knife Makers consortium and the MKM brand: consolidating the value and style of Made in Maniago, by working together as a team.

The Colvera is the stream that has been moving the hammers of Maniago since at least the 15th century. This knife is dedicated to the energy of their past, combining the shape of a wave with some classic Jesper Voxnaes styling. While it may not be his signature style, a wide drop point blade that transitions smoothly into an ergonomically curved handle is a pairing he’s featured on more than one design over the years. It translates to a knife that has a lot of character in addition to the ability to perform its primary function of cutting. It features a removable flipper tab so this knife can be used two-handed in restrictive localities and a replaceable lockbar insert/overtravel arrestor. It’s just the right size to disappear in the pocket yet cut like a full-size when its number is called.
